Day 13 - A Little Ride through some Texas Hill Country

The storm came through about 0530 this morning. By 0900 the skies were bright blue. it was 65F and I wanted to see some of them thar hills! Mr. HPpants had recommended the Twisted Sisters loop but that was a bit further than I wanted to go, Instead, I rode At Junction TX I saw a lot of cars here so, I stopped. I was not disappointed US 377 is a wonderful road This picture shows why the rain runs off rather than soaking in, I had several wet crossings on roads today, most were merely still damp from this mornings storm run-off. A typical Hill Country Vista Taken through a Cyclone Fence I stopped for a drink at Tea Cup Mountain Who knew? Tomorrow I point Freya towards Alamogordo. It is a 577-mile slog but I feel confident I can get it done in the daylight. I'll load up Thursday night and get an early start on Friday morning. I may go all the way to Spearfish if weather and roads allow. Can't wait to get to Minneapolis and meet "Gus"

  1. Just binge read your blogs. Looking at the blizzard happening outside my window I am more resentful then normal at my need to vicariously ride through the stories of others. Regardless, I am grateful for the time and effort that it has taken you to share your stories and pictures. Take your time coming back, maybe it's time to ride back to the Gulf. :) Safe travels.
